A solid choice
This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 2 GB DDR5 DL-DVI-I/SL-DVI-D/HDMI/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 100311-2SR (Personal Computers)
Pros
This is a good video card. I can play all of my games on the highest settings, and the fps never drops below the mid 40's on the most demanding of games and consistantly well above the 60's in most games. Crysis II, Masseffect II and Bioshock all look incredible. FPS on crysis II ranges around 46 to 60 fps on top settings. wei score is 7.9 for graphics. 3d mark 11 advanced is above 1709 and p5102 on performance settings. the card can be easily overclocked to 950 and 1450, and will not get avove 76 degrees after stressning with furmark for 30 minutes.

cons
All cards loose some of their flashiness and luster inside your case but this is especially true with this card. It looks like an ungainly brick. They should have done something to ornament the side of the card to help with this. The name, or some blue and black stripes something, anything. Instead they went for a rectangular black box.

Simply Amazed...
This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 6970 2 GB DDR5 DL-DVI-I/SL-DVI-D/HDMI/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 100311-2SR (Personal Computers)
PROS: Quiet, sleek design, excellent performance, and free games!

CONS: None so far. I could say the price, but I don't mind paying well for quality.

THOUGHTS:
Wow, I'm not sure where to start (I typically do not write reviews unless I'm extremely please)! I had originally purchased an MSI 6950HD 2GB, and returned it since it was outputting low FPS, behaving strangely in games like Dirt 3, and occasionally crashed with vertical lines. I decide to instead go with this 6970 and I'm confident it was the best possible decision I could have made.

First, this card is so quiet it initially scared me. I loaded up Dirt 3 for some testing and the card was absolutely inaudible. As a matter of fact, the fans in my case were louder than the card, and for the first time I could hear my hard drive spin... not even my 460GTX was as quiet as this card.

As far as performance, it runs incredibly well in BF3 Beta (the main reason I purchased this card). I got an average of 70FPS (1680x1050 resolution) with all most all of the graphical settings set to High, and rest set to Ultra. With settings fully maxed I had an average of 45FPS; I wouldn't recommend running BF3 on ultra with only a single one of these card. I ran the card with stock settings, so perhaps a little overclock (given the quietness and cool temperatures of the card) may help boost some performance on Ultra settings.

Personally, I am a big fan of this card's aesthetics. I do not have a window on the side of my case so for someone that likes to show off the interiors, perhaps it is not as aesthetically pleasing. In my case, the sleek design blended well with the rest of the components.

As an added bonus I received DeusEx Steam download coupon from Amazon AND a Dirt 3 coupon inside the video card's box!

Just got mine, uninstalled existing display drivers, shut down, installed card. You need a big case for this card to fit. Also six and eight pin connectors. Fired up the computer, installed Drivers which I had previously downloaded and everything worked great. Color is rich and my Windows index is 7.9. Could not test it with Vantage yet but I will. I'm very happy with this card and plan to get another one.
