Product Description

Instead of struggling to reach your computer's ports on the back, wouldn't it be nice to connect your speakers or microphone to the front? This simple adapter adds a microphone-in and an audio-out port to your computer through a USB port. It's a great way to connect peripherals whose cords aren't long enough to reach around the back of your PC.

You can not beat the price for performance.

If you notice there are reviews all over the place. The reason for this is because those that are not getting good performance are not setting them up correctly in windows. After you install the USB device in a USB 2 connector (not a USB 1) you have to go into the windows volume control panel and be sure to select it (USB) as the device to be used. Otherwise it will still be set on your internal sound card. It is best to disable the internal sound card or else you may end up with noise you don't want. If you set it up correctly it works beautifully and for a fraction of the cost of a new soundcard.

I love it, it works well with my PS3 and PC, it has great sound through the Headphones, it is very good if you dont want to spend the extra money on a PS3 headset when you can buy a PC headset for $5 or less, so it is alot cheaper alternative for a PS3 headset!

Better than nothing I suppose...

I got this adapter as a replacement for my broken headphone jack which I used to plug my speakers into.

With the adapter (Used in conjunction with my Logitech X-240 Speakers), however, there is a small, but noticeable, amount of static coming from some songs. I can't be sure as to what causes the static, but in the songs where it does occur, lowering the 8K and 16K settings in the iTunes equalizer makes most of it go away.

But, if you're like me and like loud music, you will be disappointed. Turning up the volume makes the speakers sound like they're going to blow out any second. This didn't use to happen when I didn't need the adapter.

In review: It's not terrible, but not great. Not for loud music fans.

Great Product A++
Really nothing special but for the price - WOW, what more can you ask for. I used it for an old lap top that the sound card died in and at was totally plug and play.

external USB 5.1 3D sound card
You plug it in and it works. Sound is OK (sometimes a slight buzz). Definitely worth the money paid.

Awesome, easy to use, and cheap!
I am running Windows 7 (32 bit) on an older Gen4 Dell XPS desktop (7 years old). My sound ports quit working and rather than trying to figure out what was wrong with it I decided...

It Works For Stereo
This is one of the least expensive pieces of electronics I have ever purchased and that should be a clue. I used this with my Tritton PC51u USB Powered True 5.

I'm serious. Please save yourself the dissatisfaction I went through.
I bought this when the audio jack on my laptop went out. How could I go wrong? its only 2 bucks, right? Well that would be great if it were worth 2 dollars.

Awfully shoddy
I would highly recommend not buying this. It's very cheaply made and comes apart even with one slight tug. I had this all of 5 days before it broke on me.

Terrible
I used this adaptor for less than a month and the housing broke off. The device also stopped working (stopped producing sound) right after it broke.

Works for TomatoUSB mpd server
I haven't used this for anything other than hooking it up to my Asus RT-N16 running TomatoUSB firmware to that I could run an MPD server, and it works absolutely great.

rubbish
The item did not work; but to the vendor's credit it was immediately replaced.

The replacement stopped wording after a few times as well.
